Marco Massarotti
Marco Massarotti was born on August 20, 1982 in Montagnana. Until the age of majority he lives in Abruzzo. In Forlì he graduated in Aerospace Engineering and subsequently attended the Academy of Fine Arts in Bologna in Disciplines and Techniques of the live show. In 2009 he became a professional actor. Since 2014 he has embarked on a journey in the field of visual arts through installations, texts, drawings and paintings that lead him to cross themes such as silence, loneliness, identity and memory. The artistic project is an investigation of the frontier, physical and figurative in which the aim is to the indefiniteness of the border: then the bodies become spatial states, maps and even states of the soul. The frontier as a place of derelict, a free zone of feeling where the randomness of abrasion becomes the destiny of the sign.

Statement
My artistic project is an investigation about border, physical and figurative in which the aim is the indefiniteness of the border: then the bodies become spatial states, maps and also states of the soul. The frontier understood as a place of dereliction, a free zone of feeling where the randomness of abrasion becomes the destiny of the sign.
I've always had a great attraction for anything that investigates the world elsewhere, that creates footholds for that shadow area that somehow makes us rediscover the unknown that is within us. It has always been a necessity to draw on this "other world" in which to reflect.
In the practical realization I constantly change the process and insert a new element which can be a color never used, a different support, a different tool or an unconventional procedure. This creates a novelty and a problem to deal with. This creates the absence of color but the presence of possibilities: the unknown areas reach out to the observer who, with his thoughts, completes them in his mind. They are regions that speak of lack, of silence, of the unsaid. This too is a transposition of the metaphysics of Chekhov's scripts: texts in which nothing happens but everything happens under the skin, in the empty space between one word and another, moving mysterious energies. To create these effects, I mix the oil technique with the acrylic one, with paper inserts that are torn off by applying mechanical or chemical abrasion using solvents. All until my eye finds a balance between the declared and the unknown at which point.
